Turn on the computer.

Place the CD-ROM (supplied) in the disc
drive of your computer.
The select screen for installation appears.

Click [Handycam Handbook].
The installation screen for “Handycam
Handbook” appears.

Select desired language and select the
model name of your Handycam, then
click [Handycam Handbook (PDF)].
Installation starts. When the installation

is completed, the short-cut icon of
“Handycam Handbook” appears on the
desktop of your computer.

• The model name of your Handycam is printed

on its bottom surface.

Click [Exit]

t [Exit], then remove the CD-

ROM from the disc drive of your computer.

HDD Smart Protection
A unique Shock Absorber protects the Hard Disk Drive from physical damage if the unit is dropped. When the 3G Sensor detects a drop (loss of gravity) the power to the Hard Disk Drive is turned off in order to prevent damage, during this time the DCR-SR62 remains powered on and recording video to the built-in buffer. Once the unit has recovered from the drop the buffer is then recorded to the Hard Disk Drive.

Active Interface Shoe
Provides a location directly on the camcorder to which one may add optional accessories while providing power and two-way communication with those accessories.

Super NightShot® Plus Infrared System
With Sony's Super NightShot Infrared System you can capture natual looking video, even when shooting in low light. Record subjects up to 20 feet away using the built-in infrared system, but without the overall monochrome color commone with earlier low-light recording systems.

Manual Focus
Allows the user to manually adjust the focus of the camcorder using the touch panel. Manual focusing also allows the user to control the focus in difficult situations where either the environment or the subject does not allow the camcorder's auto focus to perform optimally, such as when shooting through a window or in a crowded environment.
